when do your cobs start moulting?

Mine hasn't started yet. My friend's Arab leaves a trail of loose hair behind him, but my cob is clinging on to every hair.

Last year, she magically poofed it all off in one week in March. I'm hoping for the same this year!

aww, one week sounds like heaven!! i find moulting season so satisfying and want it to star now haha, one to get it out the way and two to see the satisfaction hahahah

Mine hangs on to every last hair for as long as he possibly can. We've had a few loose hairs in the last week or so, but this could go on until summer for him. I'd love to have a horse who just 'poofed' it all off. I get about 6 weeks of a nice summer coat and then he starts getting ready for winter again.

Same here. It’s not coming out in handfuls yet but he’s definitely started. The other three natives are still hanging onto theirs for a while yet.

I have an offset strip of some stable rubber matting and it makes a great shedding tool when dragged across her har like a sweat scraper.

It's a standing joke on our yard that mine only has two weeks a year when he is not moulting - one in December and one in July. So, yes, he's started a few weeks ago and will now continue until July.

Awh, honestly, the ones I am involved with moult all the way through summer but I love the satisfaction early season!!
