When does the grass stop growing??

Does anyone know when the grass stops growing?

My two are in a sectioned off bit of field and they haven't much grass left now, but I don't really want to start moving the electric fence, as it's about 300yrds long and will obstruct the gate to the main field, etc etc, if I start shifting it over. So I would like to turn them out onto the big field soon, but don't want them getting too fat.

There will be another flush of grass in october time but at the minute the grass isn't really growing

Random fact- grass stops growing at 6 degrees, obviously the colder it get the slower the growth and as we loose light. Around me the grass is extremely lush however we havent had rain now for a week and the growth has slowed a little.

The minute you need it to keep on growing. Not safe IMO til late November and then watch out for bright, frosty mornings which are as dangerous (fructanwise) as the spring stuff. Gah.

If you live in Essex, the grass stopped growing a month ago

all depends on weather but i would say in the next 3 to 4 weeks it should stop growing!
