When dogs are experiencing chronic discomfort they will still ....

To look at me you wouldnt know there was anything wrong unless I'm at the limping stage, and when I get to that point things are so bad I can barely move. Unless you know me incredibly well and recognise the tiny signs. The same applies to dogs. I know when something is wrong with mine. I know them inside out and if they are off its very obvious to me. Other people cant see it and I've had some weird experiences with vets who cant see it either.

I do understand this and that's why he walks sometimes and not others, sets the pace and the duration. Our other dog sometimes has to curve back home so he can go in while she continues on her mad capers. Sometimes he chooses to stay home.

On the whole Moti has mainly good days, if he's uncomfortable he's quiet, his tail is down and he looks a bit hunched. He very rarely limps obviously as all 4 legs are dodgy. One vet has said to me I'm over anxious but the regular partners who know him, and his physio, believe me if I'm worried and are in agreement that he won't tolerate surgery and cage rest.

When he's no longer having a lot more good days than bad he will be PTS. My OH will resist I know as he doesn't see the discomfort only that he still chases pigeons in the garden no matter what.
