Just an appreciation post for those (often rare) days when it all goes right! Just had a brilliant XC clinic with my new mare and was filled with confidence flying over the fences I'd struggled with a couple of months earlier with my previous horse with whom I'd gotten into a bit of a confidence rut with and was struggling with her stopping. I guess its a bit of a pointless post but can't remember the last time I left a session feeling so positive!
Anyone else had a breakthrough in the sun?

Really pleased for you - it is so lovely when everything goes right - so much so it often makes me wonder why it doesn't happen more regularly, and what had I done differently on that particular day!

All sounds very positive - remember that feeling on the days things don't go so well :)

Feels good, doesn't it?! Two months back, my mare gave me an awful ride at the Cerne Giant endurance ride. She was stressed, pulling and I had zero brakes. Today, she gave me a 65km masterclass in endurance on Bodmin. Every stride felt incredible and she finally grew up and showed what she's capable of. And I am very, very excited.....

Well done on the clinic going well. It's not pointless sounds like you both did brilliantly. :)
Thank you!

It really is, reminds you what all the hard work is for!

Felt great! Love it when they leave you excited as it makes you aim forward rather than dwell on negatives as I tend to do following a bad session..

Aw that sounds incredible! It's great when you have such a good session and it sounds like you really deserve it. My recent breakthrough was yesterday when my abused welsh pony approached me in the field - for the first time since I got him about a month ago. He only took a piece of carrot and trotted off again but I left the yard feeling on top of the world! Hope the rest of your summer is just as positive as today was :)

Incredible! Also had a breakthrough - for months my crazy welshie has been bucking while cantering and today he was completely fine, hooray for summer sun!:D
