When loaning a horse -

Do you draw up a contract or anything like that in terms of who pays for what and in the situation an injury occurs - who pays for the treatment and so on.

I am thinking about loaning a horse out on full loan so he will be moving - just looking to see what others who have loaned horses out do when loaning their horses out.
 
Hi. Look at the BHS website they have a template loan agreement that you can adapt to your circumstances. It's very good and I have used it for my horse who is currently on loan.
 
Yes, definately get a contract saying each others responsibilities. i would never loan a horse without one. Although tbh i probably would never loan a horse out again, as even with a contract the loaner didnt stick to the standard of care required and i had him back.
