I've been loaning Cobbus for nearly 3 years now, loved him on sight while he was still working at the RDA and was so grateful his owner let me have him on loan after he was sacked for spooking..

I always talk to her when I want to get the vet out, so called her the other night. When she said she had been meaning to talk to me about him, my heart sank.

She's only GIVEN him to me! I still can't really take it in. It's so incredibly generous, he means the absolute world to me, but I also appreciate that as a decently-schooled, relatively straightforward, weight-carrying sweetheart he would be snapped up. It's a huge thing to do.

I am absolutely over the moon. Lockdown has been hard, I feel like I've won the lottery.

So I'd like you to (re-)meet MY Archie. Registered as Choc Block, out of Longterm Surprise, sire unknown. A big lump of utter cobbley gorgeousness!

(edited to change the title - I've been watching too much Drag Race!)

Congratulations! Owner is obviously very pleased with the way you have looked after him over the last 3 years, well done. I hope you have many more very happy years together

Thank you - it's not something I ever thought would happen! It's genuinely amazing. He's slightly confused by all the hugging and crying, but ecstatic about the extra carrots and long grooming of his itchy bits. :D

We're going to meet up for fun rides and clinics, and I would love her to still come to visit. I want to get her something special to say thank you. I have some of his shoes and eleventy billion photos, but if anyone has any ideas please do let me know!

Congratulations get it in writing though

She sent me an email confirming the transfer as soon as she put the phone down.

I can understand your caution, there are a load of horror stories out there, but she has never been anything other than generous, helpful, supportive (he's my first horse, I've been a novice at everything) and thoroughly decent.
