polish the bits?

I'm getting all our sale gear ready and gleaming, and was curious to know if bit polishing is yay or nay..

(I've made a start on polishing the bit rings, but one of my fellow work mates say all of the bit, the other says as I am)

I do, but not with any kind of metal polish-not what you'd want in your horse's mouth! Use it on the rings though. I usually use toothpaste or brown sauce on the mouth, depending on what the bit is made of.
