simple questions on behalf of housemate who is panicing about her stage 2 on Friday!

Should you hold the reins in the outside hand (if in school for example)? and does the whip stay in the same hand as that you have reins?

Now I know my answers and reasons but as I have never done my BHS stages (only PC exams!) thought would ask you lot

ha ha!

Just thought actually if riding and leading reins go in right hand as obviously horse on left side so between you and hedge!!!

So will go with dependant on the activity participating in

will tell Sarah, she really is starting to panic though!!

Agree with others re it depends on what you're doing.
I would also say if you were riding in a school then your reins should go in your outside hand so the outside shoulder is more forward than your inside one and naturally creates an inside bend in your body.

yes, reins in outside hand if asked to do so in a lesson, as then inside hand is the one that will be doing whatever asked by instructor.

I've been taught reins always into outside hand. Stick into that hand too. Theory being that whatever happens, you always keep the outside rein contact!!

How BHS this is I dont know!
