When to change from puppy food to adult food?

My JRT is now 6 1/2 months old and is now coming to the end of his current bag of puppy food. There are 2 adult dogs in the house who are both on Dr John's silver - a 2 year old border terrier x Patterdale, and an 8 year old Welsh sheepdog. Would it be ok for me to wean the pup on to the Dr John's as I believe at nearly 7 months he is now fully grown? If not when would be the best time to do it?

Many thanks.

not sure that nearly 7 months is full grown even though he is a small breed...personally I would keep him on puppy food for a bit longer, maybe another 3 months....have never heard of dr johns silver so don't know if that would be suitable...

I tend to move onto Junior food from 8 to 18 months old before moving to adult. Don't think your dog is anywhere near fully grown at 7 months. I have never had small breeds however.

Generally, I'd start the change over, gradually, when they've shot their puppy teeth, and have a full mouth of adult teeth. Perhaps at about 6 months onwards.
