I have a MIPS Exxential Uvex hat. I bought it in January 2022, so just over 2.5 years ago. I feel like the amount I use it and abuse it I should replace it. I havent fallen off in it (not and hit my head).

It does sometimes live / travel in my hat case.

It that logical wanting to replace it? Or is the replace hats every 5 years / after a fall where hit head a good enough guide.

I've not got money to waste. I just feel it is looking a bit old now.

When I originally got it, I planned to only use it for hacking and keep using my non MIPS hat for schooling / dressage but I didnt.

Can you keep it on for everyday and buy a new Uvex Exxential just for posh stuff when you are out in public?
I could but I am not very image conscious. It is just a gut feel that it is now well used re safety considerations.

I think I am more at risk of injury hacking at home / endurance rides / any jumping than when out doing posh stuff.

I’d keep it, 5yrs is what they say or if you’ve had a fall etc x

I think if your gut is saying change it you should. You might not have had a fall but you know what daily wear and tear it's had and if you're feeling like it should be replaced do.

I'm about to replace mine, no falls or drops or anything to suggest it should be replaced, but just feel it's rattled around enough that it might not be as good as it was new.
