One of the working sheepdogs at home is (hopefully) in pup. She was served twice 3 weeks ago and I can feel a bit of a belly coming.
I'm going to scan her with the sheep scanner - does anyone know the best time to scan a dog?? I know sheep, cattle and goats but we haven't done a dog yet! :D any idea anyone?

Disclaimer: planned pregnancy, both parents registered, pups wanted :)

I used to have my bitches scanned by a sheep scanner, he practised on mine and then went on to do quite a few locally. He could always tell if the bitch ws in whelp but wasn't too accurate on numbers, but you should at least be able to tell if she is in whelp or not if you do it yourself I am sure.

My husbands the sheep scanner but he doesn't do many dogs, so like you say can tell if there is anything in there but can't count them accurately.
I'm just learning with the sheep though and this will be my first dog. Ill try and take some pics!
