Hattie is hopefully being covered this week and be home at the weekend or early next week. Should I wait till the 16 day scan before I ride her again? I was only going to quietly hack her until her 16 day scan.
We have a show on the 22nd July, which I would like to do with her, it would give me about 16 days after her 16 day scan which is hopefully enough time to start her schooling again and fitten her up a bit.
Is it safe to start schooling her then or should I wait till the 24 day scan?

I'm no expert on this, but i think as long as its gentle it should be absolutely fine.

But I wanted to say Good Luck, my fingers will be tightly crossed for you and Hattie

Mo was ridden after the scan, but only because of all the hassel of getting her in-foal. Suffice to say the people managing the stallion were less then truthful. Anyway Mo was ridden up until Jan. There should not be a problem, but if you are concerned ask your vet.

well i picked Bloss up from the vets a day after she had been 'done' and i hacked her home. She'd been stabled for 4 days and 3 nights so was quite overexcited to say the least. She spent half the hack bucking and squeeling and the other half pulling my arms out

I worked her immediately as normal, and even jumped her (didnt really think about it until after i had done it - i wont be jumping her again tho). Shes still in normal work now and will carry on being until she dosent want to anymore.

She took first time to frozen and is now 51days pregnant and had her final scan last week.

Great thank you. One of our girls at work was jumped after her 16day scan, but wasn't ridden before it so I wasn't sure what was best. Hattie would get very bored just sitting in the field so I'm sure so hacking until her 16 day scan will be ok.

Good luck with Bloss.

Hannah was left alone until she was 42 days in foal (recommended by the stud) and then she was brought back into full work. I also jumped her a few times and she absolutely loved doing it too... I was out competing her until she was 6 months in foal and then she sort of told me when she had had enough and just wanted to chilll. Listen to your horse, she will tell you how much she wants to do.
