I can't complain... Jan 2nd. If I could get to the road I could go for a hack, but between my yard and a clear road is 60m of slippery ice.

I managed to get out for an hour on Jan.4th. I haven't been since. Even more annoying is that I have been off work for nearly a month and had planned to do so much riding! Now weather is looking like it is going to thaw and rain but I am going on holiday on Sunday for 10 days!

So not going to be able to do much for the next couple of weeks!

I last rode on the 2nd of Jan but I forced myself and it was blinking freezing!!!. Althought the roads are ok round my home, when I go the the village where the horses are the roads are still thick snow and its all foggy!!.
At least the tap defrosted today and I didn't have to lug water around

New Year's Day, so not as bad as some, although it was just 40 minutes of ice dodging on the local roads. Haven't had a canter since before Christmas.

LOL. We have a huge field (as in so big that I can't even begin to describe how big.. it used to be an RAF airfield so hopefully that should give you an idea! It's massive) with cows and sheep on which we can ride around. Managed about 20 mins meandering carefully around there on Sat or Sun, then again around most of it yesterday morning. Lunged in there today.

I haven't really ridden properly for about 4 weeks though, and yesterday was for my benefit more than anything else so I could get my riding fix. Horse looks awful, he's lost all of his topline. He's an IDxTB (in my signature so you can see what a big horse he is) and his neck looks like it belongs to a TB straight off the track, it's embarrassing. He's not underweight, far from it, but in terms of muscle he is poor. I'm seriously considering sending him away for a couple of weeks to get back into proper work and get him going again

I can't remember! I think it may have been 2nd or 3rd Jan.
Cheering myself up with the fact that at least the evenings are getting a tiny bit lighter, in fact it's only 23 weeks until the nights start drawing in again!!!!!
