When was the last time you fell off?

I know how you feel Weezy!

OK TOUCH WOOD the last time was in May at a SJ competition and I got catapulted off at the second part of a double. I had to trudge out of the ring LOL

I fell off a few months ago but landed on my feet, Baron decided to refuse the very scarey water tray and jumped to the side, I sort of came off in slow motion and he looked at me as if to say 'ha, that serves you right'.

Time before that about a year ago, again he stopped dead at a jump, jump fell down and he pooed his pants and jumped to the side.

Ive had him 18months and fallen off twice.

About 11am this morning

Had been for a gallop up the field with her and popped over a little hunt jump so the blood was up and she was rather on her toes by the time we turned for home. So there we were, trotting rather flamboyantly down the track at some speed when she suddenly notices a huge round hay bale peeking over the top of the hedge, it was on her blind side so I think caught her by surprise. She span and being a small pony and having no withers whatsoever it's very easy to go out the side door

Landed mostly in the hedge so nothing hurt but my pride

Poor B was parading up and down the track neighing her head off, when I shouted to her she looked up and whickered as if to say 'Oh, there you are! Very sorry!' and came trotting over, snorting

First time I've come off in about a year or so.

Came off about 6 weeks ago. Turned back to an oxer in the JO...I jumped the fence...the horse didn't

In fact thinking back, i've come off about a dozen times in the past two and a bit years....and always jumping...perhaps I should take up dressage

fell off a few weeks ago....the 24th Nov.

was jumping friends 15.2/3hh gelding in my lesson and we were doing courses, and he kept taking the jumps too big (they were 1ft crosses

cos it had novice riders in the lesson

)

there was a course of 3 jumps and we managed the first with only 1 buck, but then he tanked off to the second, catapulted me out of the saddle, and on landing threw in some flying bucks! i ended up at one point standing on the side of him! lol and i landed in a puddle

never mind, gona get back on him and probably do it all over again in a few weeks :P

My last fall was about a year ago, off a 14hh pony! Still not sure what happened, the next thing I knew I was flat on my back and wheezing in that hideous way you do when you are winded. Got a new one to play with though so I expect to have some falls or close calls over the next few months

Last time I fell off was about 2 months ago - was in the parking area at an event, there's a big bank behind with more parking on top, I think someone popped over the bank and spooked him because as I was about to swing my leg over my horse, he shot forward and did an almighty buck. I fell off quite spectacuraily (sp?) and landed underneath the back corner of the trailer.... ouch! Could have been pretty nasty. Was more worried about my GPA Xtreme which had some of its rubbered coating scraped down the side of the trailer

Poor horse must have had a real scare because he refused point blank for me to get on after that so we went home having not even got on!! I've only ever fallen off this horse twice in 3/4 years Ive had him, the first time wasn't his fault, we both fell on a slippy arena corner.

Last time I fell off was end of November - my friend had been bucked off her horse at a team SJ event and I was asked to ride it. It managed to buck me off too but I got back on and we did two rounds of jumping with only 4 faults.

Last time I fell off my horse was in the summer - we were coming back from a hack and he spun round as we went through a gap and I fell off the side!

August this year. I landed on my head and had to go to hospital overnight! I was gutted because I was supposed to be giong to watch a polo match the next day but seeing as I couldn't string a sentence together (and it was a work related thing), I decided against it! All good now though. The worst thing was, he didn't even do anything! My mind was somewhere else, he went one way and I went the other. How embarassing!!

Friday! Didn't tighten my girth enough and rolled off sideways in a rather unglamorous fashion as we were walking into the school. Before that, I fell off hacking a few weeks ago. In August I fell off when he refused a tiny ickle jump in canter, I went over his head and landed on the wing and the metal cup thing - that fall taught me to wear a back protector and has left me with a yucky scar. I fall off quite a lot really, much to my friend jumpthesnowman's amusement!!!

It was about 2/3 months ago when the horse I was riding for a friend had a dicky fit and planted me IN th ground- Ended up in hospital, with my clavicle fractured in 2 places!

About a month ago off a small (13hh) round pony that the YO got cheap to bring on, well he bolted in the school (proper bolting, jaw set tanking!) and he came away from the edge of the school and turned round back towards the gate, and with him being so round his saddle slipped and I came off! Before that I hadn't come off for about 2 years, and that was off a horse that I was trying, he bucked, plunged, reared, you name it he did it on this one ride and in the end he dropped his shoulder, and I half bailed out, half fell off!

Had my mare for 8 years and fallen off her twice, first time only had her a month and had gone to have a lesson somewhere - there was a stallion in a nearby field and she was obviously feeling fruity and she bucked five times, i came off on third and did a complete somersault and landed on my back - she promptly changed the rein, did a flying change, jumped a jump in the middle of the school, changed the rein again and came and stood by me looking really shamefaced. Only fell off her once more when jumping, she was very yeehaa and we jumped a small fence and then she leapt in the air and I leapt the other way! Did exactly the same thing and landed flat on my back, no wonder a recent MRI showed up some wear and tear!

A few months ago while jumping Axey, he did a massive jump and I came out the side door but managed to cling on while he went trotting around the school, he go to the corner and stop and I flew into the boards and slithered down them, I hurt my knee and bruised my back.

Before that I fell off in sept 2005 and fractured my tibial plateau, had to have it pinned and plated and a bone graft taken from my pelvis.

Um into a smelly stream when I tried to ride & lead and the horse I was leading didn't want to go through... got into a "debate", ridden horse being a star and slowly making his way like an unstoppable tank across, yearling being led planted his feet and wouldn't budge. I was the weak link that gave... well, the girth in fact, and I went sliding slowly around ridden horses belly!! I didn't half stink afterwards!!

PMSL!! at cricklands senior finals in April! got well and truly dumped by my oldie at second part of a tiddly double!! He went on to win the second championship round DOH!! no consistency ha ha!!

I fell on my little madam about 2 weeks ago. She stopped at a tiny jump (2' !!). It was probably my fault though - I'm not a very good rider. I fall off her loads, but not off anything else. I don't really cling on when I think I'm going to fall, I just let it happen.

Ummmm August? At a Sponsored ride? Was cantering at a fairly speedy pace down a windy track and Blue decided he would try to do a flying change, c o cked it up and thew me off balance, i flew round in front of him and landed softly in long grass and nettles! Was most worried about trying to get back on board quickly so the people behind didn't catch up!

Swear i have fallen since then.... can't remember though!

E who rides Holly for me, has been back riding about 6 months after years of not riding! She came off Blue when jumping him about 6/8 weeks ago? Bruised her kidney...... she's back riding now though
smile.gif

Consequently i now don't let anyone ride Blue other than experienced instructors as people seem to keep falling off him, or they want to steal him!
