I haven't had a lesson since early November, unless you count 2 jumping sessions with my mum. Was aiming to do some over xmas but was ill so I aiming to get back on track soon.
Well technically by last riding lesson was on Gem (GinaGems ned) a week ago last Saturday, however I did have a lunging lesson with Bodey last Saturday so see how he is progressing so we can decide how long it will be before he is ready for someone to brave getting on him, not me!
Ummm as in proper lesson?? Ummm.... too long!!
Probably early 2006, dont really count gridwork sessions with my sj trainer as lessons as they're more just getting each horse to jump well rather than working on our way of going.
The problem is, so long as I'm not hitting any problems, I'd rather spend my money on xc schooling and competitions. Plus if I was doing something wrong, my sister is often around when I ride and she'd soon put me straight!!
Thanks Boss, I was thinking that Iwas the only one who didnt have regular lessons, I only have them if I can afford them, as quite often it is more important to spend the little cash I have on going to a show. I always have my mum to save me being rubbish anyway.
The last proper lesson I had was approx 15 years ago. It was a one of with Charles Harris (don't know if anyone knows who he is-LOL!). I'd probably be ripped to pieces if I had one now
Well mine happened to be on Monday as it's a good way of getting hold of a school and I am trying to sort an "outline" issue with one of ours. However I haven't really had regular lessons for a couple of years now - and I do miss them dreadfully. All the money I would have spent on my lessons is now going towards daughter's lessons with a good instructor.
I had one last night aswell!!ive been so busy recently that ive not had a chance to do any but i took the plunge last night and had a 90 min schooling and juming lesson- i was exhausted!!it went so well ive been smiling all morning because of it!!
I was having a weekly lesson with a BHSI until i moved yards in July. Since then I have not had much call to get a lesson cos horsey strained her tendon so has had the winter off.
Nearly 2 years ago...oopps! I don't tend to have lessons because I never get much out of them...my horse hates school work and just shuts off as soon as he enters one...no matter how exciting you make it. I was flogging myself to death and not getting anywhere with weekly lessons and whilst I use more than one instructor, they all ended up getting frustrated with him too!!!! So we do what we enjoy now...endurance and hacking! And we are much happier for it too!
have at least one a week - sometimes two. Trying to train up my baby so can start competing at an affiliated level. Trainer is only £25 an hour otherwise I couldn't afford it!!
Goodness!! I used to have one every day (we pay here by the month rather than per lesson) but now with BOF, who doesn't charge me (I help with his neds) it's more like 1 or 2 a week and occasionally 3
I had a couple of lessons on Hooch about 6 months ago, and a couple of jumping lessons on Chex about 4 or 5 years ago. Umm and then I had lessons at PC camp in 2000. And thats about it, never did the whole lesson thing
Ive had my new horse since may and havent had a lesson on herat all! ( must have a few lessons this summer )
So my last lesson was at the local riding school in nov 05.
2wks ago, got next one on 4th Feb. Normally have them every 2-3wks, however my trainer is competing at the Premier League at Addington this weekend (hes a GP rider).
