Just wondering in everyones experiences what age has a horse reached its full height.

I know it can vary and some stop growing sooner than others but just wondering - will a 4 year old get any bigger?

Thanks xx

Yup, it is likely a 4 year old will grow more but does depend on size and breed - a TB is less likely to grow more then say an ID

Ive was always lead to believe 'the warmer he blood, the faster they grow.'

Of course this could be complete hersay, but it would mean that thoroughbreds grow faster and tend not to grow so much as they get older, but a warmblood say...or a draft, can keep growing right until they are 5 or 6....

Most horses at four might grow a little more, but i shouldn't think it would be alot. Just MO.

Fleur grew nearly a hand after I bought her when she was 5 - my just under 15.3 ended up as a very full up 16.3 - wasn't expecting that much growth but have heard that warmbloods can do this since.

She also turned from a light TB type into a very well built mare.
