When will the grass stop growing? Opinions please if you're able to!

We have 5 horses and 2 fields, we alternate through the summer about 4 weeks in each and all horses look well or fat!

During the winter (from mid Nov-end Feb) the horses live in at night and we must use the front half, which they're in from afew days ago. The backs not got much in it at the moment but we need to allow the grass to grow in the front for the winter. There isn't that much in the front either as while we were resting it another livery was allowed to let her 3 horses live out on it so it didn't actually get rested

(but looks better than the back).

Opinions please?!
Thanks

The answer is very variable and depends completely on the weather and to a certain degree on where in the country you are (I am assuming you are in the uk)
Here in the south if it remains warmish I have known the grass grow until Christmas! albeit at a much slower rate than in spring and summer.
Often here we get a surge of grass around now and then it is steady until we get frosts (quite rare in the south though we did get frosts last year in January/february)

I have heard that grass wont grow when the temp drops consistently below 5 degrees but not sure how true that is. Mine hasnt grown for over 4 weeks and its way above that ;-) (yes I know its because we have no rain either here!)

Must say here on the south coast we are falling over grass .We have shut off one of our fields to restrict the horses intake and just rotating the horses on 2 fields until they come in for the winter.
We have had some rain here but also some sunny spells and temperature in the mid 20's so good grass growing weather.

God I'm so jealous of you're weather! I'm the west coast of Scotland and it doesnt EVER stop raining here (or so it seems

) 20 odd degrees? It was 11 degrees and TORENTIAL rain when i left the stables today

Same here in East Sussex - our grass stopped growing back in June! we haven't had hardly any rain (a dribble every now and again!) it was 80 degress here yesterday, I have to get the horses in as it's too hot for them during the day, and I have been putting hay out for them at night - it's not been a cheap summer!

Lol, we need to strike up a deal where we can 'share' the weather. Say week about? Horses up here are rugged, some are in, and the dreaded mud fever raised its head a few weeks ago

unreal

You could live in NE England. Weather - everything in moderation - ground a little hard at present but occasional showers so grass still growing and in laminitis rather than mud fever season
