In all fairness to Oli , there is an interview in the local paper with him about this and he does say it wouldn't make any difference to 2012 Olympics as he did not have a suitable horse at the moment anyway.
No sympathy with regards the drink driving!

Tough luck if he does miss the Olympics, he shouldn't have been drink driving in the first place.

He could have caused a serious accident and should have known better

Totally agree with OFG. He should also be banned from the British Team for the same period. No one forced him to drink drive and let's face it most people lose their job as a result of their actions so why should he not suffer the same

Just to clarify, I am not in anyway condoning the drink driving, he lives locally to me and he could have crashed into someone I know when over the limit. I was just pointing out that the daily fail were not right in saying the ban would "preclude him from selection" because he had already said he hadn't any horses good enough.

I've heard of worse, and off people who got away with it completely because of their status. Not for me to day what, and in no way condoning his behaviour, but I hate this constant slating he seems to get (I am not a 'fan' ) I just have respect for him for what I have known of him personally. -all bar this of course....
