Would you have a vetting done now?

My horse reared out of the blue and came right over and landed on top of me, was in a lot of pain but got up and staggered to the house, my sister was there thankfully and sorted the horse out. I lost my sight for a while due to the shock but made it to the house where I was intent on going to bed to sleep off the pain. My sister called an ambulance much to my disaproval then my only concern became the once white, grey knickers i was wearing! turned out i broke a vertabrae, my hip and pelvis! I got in a lot of trouble for getting up!

Only nasty fall I have had is when jumping merlin XC,.... he misjudged second part of an in and out and I ended up sitting on his backside on landing...... Oh how I wish someone had photographed that!!!

Didnt go to docs for three days, but by then the pain was so bad that I could not get out of bed or sit up!!!

Turned out the ligaments in my hip were torn........ Dr said she could tell this by my discription of 'It feels like my ovary is trapped in my hip socket'..... nice!!!

Don't fall off that often (the benefit of a sensible horsey!) but if I do I just ignore it. I don't bother with painkillers or chiros etc. Only time I've done anything was when I broke my leg - I wasn't going to just ignore that

Occasionally after a bad fall, painkillers and live with it but the proper bad ones have been ambulances, broken bones and passing out. I've not been to A & E for quite a while - I bet you they think I'm dead!

last big fall I had was a few years ago in a jumping lesson. Horse pecked on landing and apparently I just went head first into the floor. I lost all my short term memory and spent a night in hospital. Quite funny now though as my friend brought me some choccies and I ate them which was the only polite thing to do of course and then 2 mins later went around accusing people of eating my chocolates because I couldnt remember eating them. Oh, and I got up to go to the loo then was wandering round the ward because I couldnt remember where my bed was!!!
