Last year I sold my 5 yr old grey gelding. I bought him as an untouched 4 yo and backed him and schooled him on over last winter. He was a lovely laid back chap, as honest as the day. I prayed for a good home and sure enough he went to a fantastic family over a 2 hour drive away. I sold him within 1 hour of the ad going out and had numerous enquiries. The family that bought him have now sold him on, I know you have to let go but will miss the regular updates etc. I really thought they would have him forever! (wishful thinking I know). He did nothing wrong, just was a bit too laid back for them. pointless post really, just a bit sad. here he is as a just backed 4yo and 8 mths later when I sold him.

Aww, I remember when you sold him, he is a very handsome lad. Least you know you sold him to nice people who will hopefully have had the same criteria for their buyers as you did!

He looks lovely. It is sad to have to sell a horse, they are the only domestic animals that we sell on, its heartbreaking at times. I an in the process of selling my mare, Ive had her for 5 years and we've had loads of fun, but am ambition of mine has always been to bring on a young horse and as I am now 'getting on a bit' I have to do it sooner rather than later. I have been extremely lucky in finding a lovely 4yo, so my older girl has to be sold. I will be gutted and really hope that her new owner will keep her for life and give her a very special home. I have already put a lot of people off because for one reason or another I didnt think they were suitable. But eventually someone will come along that is suitable and I know I will want them to keep in touch with me! There are probably quite a few of us sentimental types out there!

OMG hes the spitting image of my Dixie!
