By an offer to buy a horse...

Got offered a little 2 year old a few days ago who's been playing on my mind.. Totally not my type of horse and I am in no position to afford a horse full time..

But hes sweet and seriously playing on my mind!

It's at times like this I wish I'd stayed away from horses to resist any temptation!
 
Welcome to my world, one thing I can't resist is temptation, I was flicking through DD, as you do and saw an ad for a young cob, not my type at all, just had to go look, the poor little beggar trembled when he saw his tack, what a lovely little character he is, quick to assume he's going to be hurt, but trying so hard to trust us, he will follow like a dog and growing in confidence daily and what a little show off, he excells in the show ring, yes I bought him

I've just found out today that a horse I absolutely adore and rode a lot is up for sale for a few hundred quid. Randomly about a month ago I tried to find him as I was going to sell my current horse and I couldnt get him out of my head. I changed my mind about selling mine as I just cant, then today out of the blue someone messaged me to say hes for sale, at the same time as someone offered to buy my current boy. I cant bare to sell Frankie, and I just cant have 2 at the minute as we are buying a house, but I am tying myself up in knots about it. If I knew the other horse hadnt been wrecked, and I cant view him to check, then I'd be getting him and screw the consequences.

I have arranged for a friend to view him on my behalf, just to see, well thats what I'm telling myself anyway :lol:

Ha Ha, I LIKE that one. I wonder if MY mum would like a new horse!!!!

I like the look of the 17.1 chestnut hunter at £5000 in Dorset on H&H online at the moment. Visited the page a few times.....
 
Dont do it, it never ends, you need to learn some self disciplin! i have non, im weak, i now own 6 and only have use for 1 :(
 
This is the trouble, when you're tempted. You tend to collect them!
We now have 5. 3 of which were either gifted or spur of the moment additions.....
One's out on loan now, which helps!
the latest spur of the moment purchase 3 weeks ago, is away being backed, she looks like being a very nice coloured middle- heavy weight hunter type.
 
No matter how tempted I am I know I can't justify the expense :( buying them is the easy part, keeping them not so much!

I do miss having my own though, I did a sponsored xc ride on my loan pony yesterday which was fun and just wished o had my own I could take more often.

Definitely this. Upkeep care exercise etc., it all adds up and is time consuming. I have 2 although I know it's not sensible for me, but when did sense ever come into having horses!

Agree with this. I bought a pony on a whim once after it was offered to me and it was a terrible decision in hindsight. Would never do that again, no matter how much I liked the horse. DD is the worst website for me - so many gorgeous Welsh Ds to be tempted by.
