I have been hunting the internet for second hand leather saddles for my roly poly cob and finding very little.. if I do find anything its generally already sold! Does anyone know of any saddlers other than martin wilkinson, saddlers direct and rideaway that have second hand saddles listed?

They all hide with me as i dare not get rid as I always regret it!!

There is a very good chap I know who owns Ride and Drive in Oxford. I can guarantee that you will never find anywhere in the UK a larger selection of good quality secondhand saddles at very reasonable prices. (and as my job takes me to nearly every tack shop in europe I can say that with confidence!)

I have had some nice wide ones from him before and he often sells some via ebay. He is also happy to do part exchange. His details are hard to find on the web I think for security reasons. If you would like further info please feel free to PM me. :)

i wouldnt call 9.5 inches xw tbh. as much as a lot goes on positon of d rings etc, id be thinking that was a MW not even wide.

I have the Kent and Masters cob saddle which is a leather version of the Thorowgood T4, I really like it as my cob does get thinner in winter and puts on a bit of weight in the summer.

Have you considered putting a "wanted" advert on Preloved? My friend did this a couple of weeks ago as she knew what she was looking for and she got one within a couple of days, excellent condition too.

My boy is too wide for the t'good saddles. I ended up with an Ideal Highland and Cob in XW which is far wider than the t'good. They are also very slightly adjustable (about a size either way) by and Ideal saddler.

They come up on ebay fairly regularly:). I find mine to be fairly neat in the seat - 18" just takes my big butt :o

I'm looking for an XW saddle too - specifically for a (pref) black, 17" or 17.5" Jeffries falcon hawk event in XW (will be stamped WW on the stirrup bar) if anyone has one :)

I recently managed to get hold of a hardly used brown Ideal H&C XW, so if it doesnt fit madam (she was fitted for one but it was a while back), I will have one for sale.

I snapped it up as it has taken 2 1/2 years for the right size/colour to come up for sale !!! secondhand and I cant afford a grand for a new one. Was thrilled that this one is barely marked and very well looked after :-))
