Where are all the horses in Cornwall!

I'm looking to buy, granted I don't want to spend a lot but I'm not looking for a ready made competition horse! I have looked in all the usual places and everything seems so expensive, even in this economic climate! Does anybody know where I can look, any contacts not on the net. I'm looking for something 16hh or over, under the age of 10, not after anything cobby or heavy in breed. sex unimportant, behavioural issues unimportant. I'd like to source an ex or failed racer but can find anything on-line. I don't want to fork out much over 1k. Feel free to tell me I'm being unrealistic.

when I was horse shopping last week I was looking for approx 15hh cobby sort and found loads in Cornwall on AdHorse, which is the other end of the country to me unfortunately!

Oh really, times have certainly changed since I bought my last horse then! I thought it would be easier to buy now than what it was 8ish years ago, as a family we managed to get three ready to ride quality mares for £1500 apiece, with tack!! Thought it may of been easier to find something young and green for around 1k. I'm not totally against a fully unbroken youngster, i will have time to break and bring on.

If you are looking for something unbroken it may not be so much of a problem, reading your original post I thought you were looking for something broken.
