Killing two birds with one stone, thought it would be good to find a little lead rein pony for my toddler granddaughter, who would be a companion for the big horse. Don't want anything fancy, just an easy pony who can be 98% companion, 2% pony ride.

All the local lead rein ponies are going for well in excess of £1000. Can't even find a relative youngster to bring on for next year.

Any ideas where I can look? Searched Horse and Hound, Horsemart, Horsequest, Dragon Driving, all the local Facebook pages, and have drawn a complete blank.

WHW and you can send it back if it doesnt work out. You are also making space for another rescue to find a stable, winters coming.

pony club maybe. Perhaps if you dont mind a youngster the local studs may have a gelding or mare that is too closely related to their stallion

We've just bought a Welsh sec a mare as a companion for our other mare, when I had Angel put down, met her other previous owner last week with her daughter, seems she was an excellent LR very good in traffic, just got a little strong when let off the LR so sold her on, we bought her for £200 and she has an excellent pedigree, so they are out there somewhere. :)

I am getting a lovely boy in sept from them and they had lots of shetties available have you tried all the farms, call them dont just look on the net.

I saw two section As free to a good home last night (unbroken). I was looking on horsemart, horsequest, righthorses and adhorse. I think it was on righthorses tho, two greys.

There are a fair few on preloved.
Am off to look at a little section A tomorrow for my daughter.
Where are you based?
