I have been looking for a small novice eventer since before christmas.
We liked the first one we tried, it went lame after we booked the vet. Then we tried about 5 more, some were unsuitable, we liked another two but they had dodgy feet or legs so we didnt want to go any further.
Then we found a perfect one and booked the vet and bought first refusal only to have the owners friend ring up to tell us they had sold it to someone else behind our back. So we had to cancel the vet again!
Now still looking and absolutely cannot find an eventer that has done enough novice events to have some experience without being denoviced in points. Everyone seems to sell them before moving them to novice or just after denoviced!!
Not only this but it seems the only ones still left in novice cannot showjump at all! Hence lack of points.
Now we have dropped our standards and widened our criteria after realising that the perfect horse does not exist, which we already knew anyway. But even with completely open minds we cannot find anything that is...
15.1hh to 16.1hh ( I am only about 5 foot 2 or 3)
Some or none (even if just "ready to move up") novice experience but not denoviced
5yrs to 11yrs
Sane, genuine and vaguely consistent in all 3 phases (just not one disastrous weak point please!)
WHERE ARE ALL THE HORSES!!!!
If anyone knows a small novice eventer for sale, please let me know! Thanks
