Where are all YOU knowledgable people..

Walkingman, if you read this thread, Starbucks got some of the feed advice she asked for, and responded by having a dig at the shape of the horses belonging to the poster who gave the advice.
 
No, that's just your interpretation. It was an observation an accurate one, not a dig, to ask why should she take the advice from someone who's horses also aren't in top condition.
 
Does everybody know everybody on here???? I don't know anybody so try not to judge people in anyway , but a lot off people I find do judge you on here. I do find I can't keep up with the amount off posts going on and some I would like to comment on are so far back the pages I can't keep up with them. The only thing which has really got to me about this forum is when I get personal attacks about my spelling which is totally un called for and is no better than primary school bullying, I know I can't spell to save my life so please no need to rub it in. Anyway that's me over and done with :p

Why would she indeed. The only tricky bit is, she has no way of ascertaining any of my horses' condition...

No offense, but Martlin hasn't asked on her horses' condition nor stated how she wants her horses to look or if she even wants to build up their topline.

Me, of all people saying this, Topline isn't everyone's primary concern or aim with their horse.
So to me, it was a pretty useless comment in response to a genuine reply to her question.
For the other horses, topline is everything to us...however my TB doesn't have a strong topline nor confo to go with it to build up easily and correctly, so I can get a decent enough topline on him, but it is never his strong point regardless of how much schooling/lunging/etc he does.

I can quite happily instruct people from the ground jumping on what to do, talk them through courses etc alot better than I could do them myself now. Doesn't mean just because I still don't jump at that level now, I can't put into words and teach what they should do be doing.
What's that phrase....those who can, ride...those who can't teach :P LOL.

For the record I offered my opinion on her topline post and that was that. Take it or leave it, but it is just fact that lunging and schooling the horse correctly at all times having them fully engaged from hock to poll will build up their topline. Nothing insulting or silly in that comment, just plain fact.

Also, if you're hard hunting for your main riding interest, then topline will be harder to maintain, especially after a season's hunting as it will drop off due to the work type they're doing [hard and fast and not needing to be in an outline]. So more work will be needed to top it up and 'rebuild' it if that makes sense.

I happily comment upon anyone's threaad if I think I can help, but I'm only on here at certain times, and I tend to just use "new posts" to see what is going on rather than trawling through pages in the individual rooms so I don't see older threads.

If you aren't getting replies you can always bump your thread up a day or so later so different people see it.

Though feeding is an area I stay well away of as I know nothing about it!
 
im new member here and have found exactly the opposite
i am a novice and every question i have asked has been answered fully and ive got lots of really good and friendly advice from people here
