Where best to donate saddlery to?

Hi Everyone (Anyone )
I am about to 'write off' a quantity of unsold bridles /headcollars etc and would like to donate them to a horsey charity but don't know which one - I was thinking a Racehorse Rehabilitation one but then thought maybe The Brooke - but would the items ever end up there or just be sold off and the money swallowed up in admin?
Any ideas much appreciated...

Can I recommend this option, ESP for the smaller sized bits. They would be very grateful and the horses more so.

Offer them to your local Riding for The Disabled - they are often desperate for tack, or they can sell on to raise funds

I don't know where you are of if all Blue x centres do this but the local one to me has big tack sales of donated stuff every 6 months or so to raise money to rescue horses in need.

We had quite a lot of tack etc no longer needed and we donated to Blue cross either to use or put in their tack sale.

We don't have much in the way of horse rescue here, but the RDA do a wonderful job and always get my bits and pieces. They also built a really awesome indoor arena and hire it out really cheaply to other non-profits when they aren't using it. So I try and support them whenever I can.

I know they sell what they can to raise funds.

Our local pony charity sells the donated tack and other items through their own auction held on Facebook so they can buy hay and straw.

Blue Cross or World Horse Welfare in the UK, if for a charity abroad its better to sell them off, or let UK arm of charity sell them off and send money for medicines etc overseas. Lots of grass root charities needing loads of help Gambia Horse and Donkey, ACE Egypt if you want a properly registered charity overseas but not so big they have Directors etc. Martin Clunes is Patron of Ace. They also have classrooms for up to 800 children and teach them kindness and compassion to all animals, they are amazing ♥
