Because I can't afford to keep having the saddler come out to adjust my side saddle. It cost me £90 the other week and my husband is moaning about how mich money is going out on horse stuff this month (LOL, well- every month!). I took apart my saddle, I know where it needs the stuffing, just need the stuffing now!

All I keep coming across on ebay and on google, is Merino but this is too soft. I need a flock which is coarse and springey. Any idea where the saddler's get their flocking from?

Maybe try asking a saddler if they'll sell you some?

Not much help as I've never needed any before but might be worth a try

I really would not advise you to try to reflock yoiur saddle yourself, it's not just a matter of stuffing it in. You are very likely to end up with lumps and bumps where they shouldn't be. Unless of course you have had some training, in which case I apologise.

You will find it hard buying a small amount of flocking as like anything in retail its bought in HUAGE BAGS. (Abbey maybe? not 100% where from)

BUT DONT DO IT! you will more than likely ^$%* it up and cause more problems such as not evenly flocking it and therefore screwing your horses back up and then in the end its not such a cheap option is it!?!

Flocking normally comes in bags this size

I have put a saddle on top to show just how big it is.
I would not recommend trying to flock a saddle yourself unless you have been trained to do so, as it is very easy to cause lumps and uneveness in the panels, I was trained by Master Saddler, Mark Romain from the Saddlery Training Centre at Salisbury. I charge half what you paid to reflock a saddle.
