Where can I find a dog fosterer in Devon or Somerset?

I'll try to keep this as short as poss. We are currently fostering a teenager whose family have gone into a refuge temporarily. They need a fosterer/s for their two dogs, a lab and a yorkie x. The RSPCA are about as helpful as a chocolate pisspot - thay had them in their care for 3 weeks and were trying to persuede the family to sign them over, which of course they don't want to do. I've tried Cinnamon Trust, Dogs Trust, Blue X, all to no avail. The family are currently in Barnstaple, Devon and we are in Bridgwater, Somerset. Any info on fosterers in these areas would be gratefully accepted!

Wish I could help. Would offer if I could but with two dogs in an already over crowded house, my OH would have a heart attack. Have you tried Dorset Dog Rescue? They use fosterers for all their dogs and might be able to suggest someone? Hope you manage to sort something

Any small local rescue. I stay in touch with the Lab rescue we got ours from, and they often have threads on their forum for people to foster dogs for people - and someone usually does... This is in the NW, but there must be something in your area..

I used to foster for many rescues myself, however i now have 4 dogs of my own and horse so couldnt offer BUT i do know Rescue helpers unite, dog pages and animal lifeline uk are lots of different rescues post help needed offered etc... Good luck

Labrador rescue /Labrador trust may be able to help - or have you thought of putting a note in the local shop - there are some very kind people about.

Happy Landings near Shepton Mallet? They're fabulous - always full, but try their very very best. They have lots of fosterers - my mum used to be one.
