Where can I find a small french link?

I'm thinking of trying a different bit for my daughter's loan pony. The pony is absolutely fab and although he can be a bit whizzy she is always able to stop, however controlling his speed on the way in to a fence is sometimes an issue!

He came to us in a very thin eggbut jointed snaffle - almost like a bradoon. I didn't want to rush to change anything, however we've had him for 8 months now and he and daughter are pretty well used to each other. The issue for me is that when daughter tries to check him on the way to a fence, he throws his head and rushes. I suspect that the joint on the bit is hitting the roof of his mouth, hence why I'd like to try a french link. The problem I have is that there is very little room to spare in his mouth, hence why (I think) he came in such a thin bit. Anyone any suggestions for where I can find a thin french link without spending a fortune?

What do you class as a fortune? Most of the cheaper French links are not really comfortable for small mouths as the middle plate is too wide and leaves the joints sitting on the bars. Try and find one with a small link in the middle. Myler do a d ring French link and the links in neue schule bits are small too. What size do you need? Have you thought about a mullen instead?
 
Thanks for your replies. We need a 4.5 inch. Although I don't want to go down the 'stronger bits' route, I'd worry that a mullen mouth would be too mild.
 
I've recently bought a Shires eggbutt french link snaffle for my boy (5 1/2 in ) but they did have a 4 1/2 - I thought it was quite a thin bit (would have preferred a thicker one for mine) so you could have a look at those?
 
I looked at the new schedule bits yesterday, they are really tiny and look really nice for a dinky mouth but around £75!
 
My horses have shallow mouths and all 3 of them have Him Argentan lozenge eggbutt snaffles enactments they go really nicely in. Can't do a link but if you do an eBay search you should find them. I've got an 18mm one, and 2 a bit fatter!
 
We have them for daughter's FR pony. I bought them from ebay -small French link bit bradoon rings which are in proportion to the pony's head. I didn't pay more than £20 including p&p each, but one is a thicker mouthpiece than the other, and I prefer the thinner one.
