A replacement adjustable front buckle strap with the quick clip? Somehow mine managed to loose one off her Weatherbeeta Tristar last year and I cant find a suitable replacement anywhere. Any ideas? Or has anyone got an old rug to throw away with a spare strap I could buy?

I've never seen one just for sale on its own. On the offchance, have you called Weatherbeeta - they may be able to flog you one? Failing that, a cheapo second hand does sound like your best bet.

Quirky wins :D Bit of stiching on a chest strap and swivel clip there and you're away.

Hey I'm not too proud!! For most of last winter she had the missing front part of this rug tied up with old baling twine tied into a nice bow :D Just thought I ought to try a bit better this year, since the rug's home being washed and reproofed.

Have tried to find a phone number or email address for Weatherbeeta but they don't seem to have one they advertise. I can only find a postal address :confused:

My boy's tristar is currently being washed and reproofed! I hope it comes out as well as yours, it looks like new! I normally use bailing twine for fillet strings until I get around to buying a new one!

Spyda: me, neither :D Really done me a favour, too, as one of my old boy's v heavy Fals (that I'm HOPING not to have to get out this winter for fat new young one but then the long range forecast is poo again) is missing a surcingle slider - so double cheers to Quirky now!

Found this number for WB from a couple of years back but worth a go: 01295 226905

go in to your local tack shop and ask them to get some in (they may already have some)

The one I used to work in always used to keep spares in for the Mark Todd rugs.

Yeah, must admit I'm really pleased with how my two 6'6 Tristar's have come up after their wash. And believe me - the WERE minging yesterday before I washed them. I washed them at home in our 7kg washing machine at 30 degrees, using Napisan and a small amount of non-bio powder on the longest wash and an extra long rinse cycle. I even tumble dried them last night! ( dont tell OH :D) I'm planning to waterproof them next with Fabsil, once I get the time. I'm going to paint it on by hand so it could take some time  This'll be the 3rd winter for these rugs and apart from the lost front strap and a couple of small areas on one rug, they've lasted really well considering they're used 24/7 when in use.

Sounds like something I'd do!!! Plus I love napisan, I'v always got something soaking in it!! My boys tristar has a small tear in it (which is really good considering he shreds my others rambos!) so I'v sent it away to be done! Yeah it's this rugs 3rd winter too. I absolutely love it! So hardwearing and I don't get this breathability problem with them, my boys never sweated up etc in it. It's the only rug that's a generous enough fit to 1). fit him and 2). keep his bum dry as that tail flaps amazing!!!!

Big up the tristar!!!

Yeah, it's a real shame Weatherbeeta withdrew them because of 'waterproofing' issues. Pity they didn't just improve their waterproofing and continue carrying the rug in their range. It's so handy being able to add and remove liners from a TO rug and the Tristar was one of the cheapest rugs offering this.

Oh it was the waterproofing was it? I thought it was the breathability. Well never had any problems with mine, it tends to look wet but has never leaked, getting it reproofed for the first time this year. It is a shame they didn't just improve it!

You SUPERSTAR!!!!
Yay.gif
Many thanks :)

I think there were customer complaints on both counts TBH. Must admit my filly sweats under her unlined Tristar-outer sometimes (into a steaming, white-foam sweat) when the YO doesn't get her in first and she's left running the fence line at a flat-out gallop for 15 - 20 minutes (frequently throwing her shoes in the process, too):mad::mad: But I didn't blame the Tristar though as mine would have gotten herself into that state even if she'd been totally unrugged. That's how I ended up buying TWO Tristars - so she always had a dry one to put on the next morning after the previous night's sweat-up. I'd read a lot of complaints about waterproofedness (sp?) but always got around that by extra waterproofing mine :)
