Hi all, do any of you know where i can find a trainer who can bring on a 4 yr old Andalusian the classsical andalusian way here in the north west uk??? Struggling to find someone, basically want him to go to a yard for approx 4/6weeks to further his education ( already backed) but would like someone who knows what they are doing with Andys and classically...
Any info massively appreciated, thanks :)

Not quite local but two people I would recommend would be Peter Maddison Greenwell. Purely Classical, doesn't do competition stuff outside of the spanish field.

or Turville Valley Stud, Diane Thurman-Baker owns and runs it with her daughters. The older daughter Sam won a prize at the Europeans for the best rider. Classical approach in the best possible way but if you also want to compete they can help you through the practicalities of competing PREs

I know a lady near me (Cambs) who has Spanish horses, teaches classical dressage and does equitation. I had a few lessons with her and even though I was very basic back then, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. She's extremely accomplished with all things Spanish! If you want more info feel free to PM :)

Thanks all, I am near Manchester/cheshire so in a 50 mile ish radius is preferable...:)
Not looking for lesons, rather someone to take him as livery to school/further advance his education...

Sorry to jump in but saw loopiesteffs post and wondered if you could pm me some details of the cambs trainer? I can't seem to send a pm! Thanks

Diane Thurman Baker is excellent and both of her daughters are stunning riders (I think the younger is only around 14). I wouldn't hesitate to have either of them ride my horse (admittedly a WB, but they have experience with Iberians).

I just wanted to say that I attended a Charles de Kunffy weekend clinic at the TTT in Guildford and there was a pre stallion there; only young - 5 years old I recollect and you wouldn't have known it was a pre from the movement - it was big striding and totally different from the majority of pres one sees with those dreadful choppy strides. He was a credit to his trainer and a credit to classical methods; showing exactly what is possible through correct training.

Dont know where abouts you are NW, but im Staffs & have a PRE i train & compete. Unfortunately i cannot take in for training atm as ive just filled my last stable with a new horse. But if your close i could certainly help you.
I train with Matt Frost but have trained with the TTT & Andreas Hausberger ( Chief rider SRS ).
