...oong leather boots with garter straps and a neat leather saddle bag?

I've never had a pair of long leather boots and am going to ask for a pair for Christmas. They would be used for showing & jumping, wouldn't be brave enough to risk a really nice pair hunting in case they got ruined! But I would want them with garter straps for showing. Or would it be easier to get a pair without the straps and get a tab attached and get some straps? Not sure if the budget would stretch to a made to measure pair.

I also want a small leather saddle bag, in brown, for carrying my hip flask, chocolate, horse treats etc when out hunting. I only have a cheap jacket that has no pockets and anyway, I don't want to fall off & land on my hip flask - Ouch! The flask is square and just slightly to big for my waiscoat pockets.

I have been keeping an eye out on ebay but any other ideas would be great and thanks in advance!

Size 4 with chunky calves! Theiy're all muscle, though, from riding & running. Honest!

Ah, sorry, I have a pair of Regent Europa's that I don't use but they are narrow and size 7, so totally no use to you

Ok now shoot me down here - but if you have chunky calves, avoid garter straps

The lack of a spanish topline on the boots make your legs look short and the space required for a garter strap makes them look even shorter

The result is not very flattering for the non-stick thin person!

I see where you're coming from but thing is straps are more correct for showing. Bloomin' short legs, just not fair, but to be honest I don't really like the boots with high sides (Is that what you mean by Spanish topline? More like dressage boots? Sorry, not familiar with that term). I probably didn't describe my legs well, they're not huge just muscly on the calf area, so would need a wide fitting (they're probably 14-15 inches around) but the bit of my leg where the garter strap goes is thinner so they don't look that chunky with boots on, it's more getting the fitting for my calves, if that makes sense.
