Where can I get a loan?

Ponycat76.......You have made 4 posts, no one knows how many years you have owned horses or anything about you.
Youn asked where you could get a loan from and people told you. The fact that people also had opinions on whether they would get a loan for a horse is all part of a forum.
People were being kind to you suggesting a spreadsheet, you could be a complete novice with no idea !!! and I think your response has come across as a little offish !!

i am thinking of getting a loan to buy a new horse. my horse has now been out of action for 18months, i'm bored stiff of not riding and i want a new horse. i have paid off my vet bills for him and have easily enough spare money a month to cover a loan and all his costs and my current horse and have money to spare, but it's gonna take me a while to save up to buy one. I'm starting saving now, but I'm also starting looking and if the right horse comes up before i've got all the dosh then i might get a loan or credit card to cover the difference. I'm on a good ladder of icnreasing pay every year at the moment, so know i will have no probs affording the repayments. i dont have a house or mortgage though, so need to find an unsecured loan which often have higher interest rates it seems. i dont think it's stupid to consider a loan for a horse as long as you've worked out exactly whether you can afford it, even under exceptional circumstances.

I took out a loan to buy my horse. He lived at home so I had no livery bills etc just feed and shoes. I could easily find the money to pay back the loan and his "running" costs, insurance etc and also I had some savings that I didn't use to buy him in case of vets fees that weren't covered by the insurance etc. I hadn't been saving for years to buy a horse as my circumstances changed fairly quickly to allow me to have a horse again.

I don't see the problem in taking a loan out to buy a horse at all if you are sensible about it. My loan came from Northern Rock who were quite happy to give me the money to buy a horse, and my husband to buy a motorbike with the same loan!
