I've been trying to sell my saddle for the last 8 months.

I've had it on eBay and preloved. It has been with two local saddlers... one of which had loaned it out for free for the last 3 months so I'm not too keen giving it to another saddler to sell!!

It's narrow and has an 18" seat so not something that is well sought after. Does anyone know any websites that I can advertise it on? I'm at my wits end with the thing!!

:D

I'd stick with preloved and price it at an offer they can't refuse. or...

Are there any horse and tack auctions coming up local to you? Not sure about your area but tack always gets a great price at auction here.

saddlesdirect have a private areas that you can sell saddles.
I sold one on there, took a couple of months but it did sell.

It's not a well known brand but it's a very well made saddle so it hasn't been very well recieved on preloved.

Will try saddlesdirect though!

Doesn't it seem easy to buy saddles but aggro to sell them. It took me a while to sell a narrow jumping saddle recently on Ebay which did sell...but at a loss. When Ive looked at saddles I've come across this website:-

http://www.saddlesdirect.co.uk/about.html

I can't comment on whether they charge a lot of commission and how it works, but they do seem to have a turnover of saddles.

I'm in a similar situation with a saddle made by Ideal but branded with my saddlers own brand.

It's been on eBay 3 times, with my saddler for 6 months and on Preloved for months - nothing. Absolutely nothing!

I'm only asking a few hundred £ for it so it's not exactly overpriced for what it is.Daft isn't it, we pay so much money for them when we buy them and then can't give them away.

Sorry, not much use I know but good luck with it :)

Ditto!!

I only want half what I paid. I bought it second hand for £450 and I'd like £250 for it. It's a bloody good saddle...!!!!! I think the size of it makes mine difficult to sell.... maybe I should wait until winter when horses start to lose weight :p

Sorry not much help but can I be cheeky and say good timing for me ;) Picking up my new horse tomorrow and already know that his saddle doesn't fit him at all so I am saddle hunting soon.

Thanks for the links!
