hey , my dad has a lorry (mercedes atego) and is going to be really nice and turn it into a horsebox for me :) who can i contact to do this ? who are the best conversion companies you have used ? Also how much are we looking to pay for it ? any recommendations from yourselves will be greatly appreciated , thanks.

Galaxy Horseboxes in Somerset, Dave is your man, bought ours from there. He does exactly what it says on the tin so to speak. Really nice bloke, we even came from Scotland to get our built as he was so trustworthy.

On average, a conversion will cost between 8-12k +vat, depending on spec, and quality etc. That generally will only include a very basic living. It all depends on what you want. It maybe more economical to sell your wagon, and buy one ready done privately.

I had an Atego as my first 7.5t and it did have some issues. The container on the back is usually narrower than other types so my horse used to be cramped and rub his bum out on the wall. Also, the suspension is quite soft so it sways alot around corners.
