Where can you buy a pelham without

But the chain is attached by hooks. Bend the hook out, remove the chain and replace with a leather one.

The chains will come off easily, you just need to get some pliers and bend the hook a little.

Humph, I will give it a try. I am wary of ruining the hook on the side that I am unbending, is all...

It won't, you don't need to bend it much at all to sort it out. If you do go too far (unlikely) and ruin the hook, the hooks cost under a couple of quid a pair.

You wont ruin the hook byopening it up slightly

We've done this a few times and never ruined the hook yet - you only need to open them up the tiniest of fractions.

If you don't want to unbend the hook, which is simple as everyone says, then cut the chain.

I take the hooks off everything and use leather curbs straight onto the bit myself - sits back and waits for eruptions of "You can't do that" ....
