My oh, has kindly agreed to rubber or eva mat my stable for my xmas present. I now have the task of finding which mats I want, rubber or eva etc.

Obviously I want Ted to have the best rubber or eva mats but I do have a budget of up to a max of £350. I've yet to measure Ted's stable but think it's 10 x12ft, the stable has concrete flooring which is flat, but no drainage. The plan is that once the mats are down he will go onto wood pellets.

What stable mats do you recommend, eva or rubber and where did you get them from?

Depends on the drainage really, assuming it's good ie a bucket of water runs away quickly to a drain or to a corner where you can remove half a brick then Kraiburg definitely

I have just bought some off ebay - actually listed as Gym Matting by Vulcan Rubber in Yorkshire - fantastic service - top quality mat and even with the postage they were about £50 cheaper per stable.

I have Equimats in 3 of my stables and I really love them. A lot! They were worth every penny as I use very little bedding now. If you ask them they do offers and sometimes have seconds/cancelled orders.

not sure where your based, and if youve got a trailer. but Broxton gates is the cheapest around for heavy weight super thick matting. 30quid a mat 6ftx4ft my 12x12 stble would fit 3 and a half mats, cut to fit. they are indestructable matting :D

Have just used www.thestablemat.co.uk to do fourth stable having used them last year to do the other three. They were brilliant, charged £240 (I think?) which included delivery AND fitting for 10x10 stable! Also if we change stables they will come and clean, move and refit it to new stable. Can't recommend enough they were brilliant :D

I have equimat and love it but it is very expensive, so much so that for my last stable, we had to economise and got some from Robinsons. The mats are heavier than the equimat and don't interlock but it will certainly do the job.
To fit a 12 x 12 stable, it cost around the £350 mark and p&p was really cheap. For some companies we would be looking at over £50 just for delivery.

Thanks fore all the advice. I'm going to order samples of the ones that I can.

Although, I think I will probably go for the Robinsons EVA mats as they seem to be the best priced.
