Where and how do i sell a difficult horse ? He is an honest boy but is too much for me ! i cannot advertise him as a good hack as he napps, he has a problem getting into a decent trot prefers to "Pace" and has not been schooled for 6 months, he suffers from seperation anxiety and we have just come out of 6 week box rest after a bad foot abcess so has no muscle or condition and a bad attitude ! Yes ! he was a bad buy for a first horse for a novice rider! I do not want any one else to be caught out like i have been and i want him to go to a good home where he can be hopefully be put right.

Does any one know where i can Start ??

projecthorses.co.uk is where people look for 'difficult' horses, however I think a lot of people look there for 'bargains' so not necessarily the best option for the horse...

Alternatively, look for a reputable dealer who will either buy the horse from you (for peanuts) or will take the horse, school it & sell it on taking a commision plus livery/schooling fee (which can be fairly meaty).

Project horses is a good one as everyones said, or alternatively you could just try advertising and being honest about his problems?

Sell him through a dealer & you'll be unlikely to have the hassle of any come backs. If you sell privately you will be courting the potential of loads of aggravation....punt it out through a dealer of some description

Do you remember the ad in H&H last year where someone described their horse along the lines of "difficult, ungrateful, you are unlikely to survive hacking out" and apparently it sold very quickly. So you never know. As long as you are not looking at lots of money, there will be a buyer out there. However, you may not be able to afford to be fussy about who takes the horse on.
