well iv ridden for 30 years since i was 3! but never done anykind of competing etc, last 2 years started going to local shows unaf sj etc and xc schooling, anyway i now have a horse that is fab, 16.2 out of saracon hill, wev gne thru sum tough times but now shes amazing, im intouch with preivous owners who have informed me she was so bold and brave hunting, shes also great at xc, had her to sj in my area and shes fab, shes my dream, so what now,i dnt have a clue about where to start, i have only ever been a hacker and local shows never bothered about anything but now i have her i feel i want to move on and compete, so what do i do, i hear people talking about ode and be80t etc buti dnt know wat this means? iv never needed to, this horse at home jumps clear at 3ft 9 and in unaf sj 3ft 6 but in warm up arena i had her over 1m20 shes so keen and has loads of scope and shes never refused a thing, well point being shes wasted at min but iv nt gt a clue what to do sj wise, so where do i start, do i need to join somewhere to find out whats on ?
sorry but for years iv just wrode everyones cuckoo horses and now i finally have a fab one i dnt want to waste her x

Why do you think she is wasted? If you are happy at the mo doing hacking and stuff, then thats cool! A riding club might be the best way to start, find out from the BHS website what area you are in, then you can find your nearest one....

Before you even consider BE or anything like that, your best bet is your local unaffiliated stuff, and start low, just get used to your fab horse and as your confidence grows and you get to know each other, then you can start to move to other stuff.

Best of luck!

Let us know how you get on! :D

hi thanks for reply, well we have been going to local unaf shows and she won first time out, shes so capable and everytime we go shes placed so i would like to move on i just have no clue about what level is what if you know what i mean, shes going round 3ft 3 courses with no respect really, shes a big horse and can do so much and after all of this time i would like to do more, i have registered on the be site and bhs site but im just not familar with what classes we should be doing and we have no points so how do we earn them, how do i find out where and what we should be doing to gain points etc
thanks
