QR- With regards to the cribbing, I bought a horse 8wks ago. The advert did say he cribbed and owner said he cribbed mildy. Ay the time it was my friend looking to buy him and she had a quick check of mouth and looked ok, having got him home his teeth are little more than stubs so that, coupled with his behaviour since, confirms that he is a chronic cribber. My own stupidity for not checking his mouth properly. However I would have thought your vet would have checked his mouth during vetting and spotted uneven/excessive wear on his teeth if he was a cribber?
With regards to "settling in", I can appreciate a horse being unsettled in a new home and testing the boundaries but yours sounds like it is anything other than well schooled? Surely a school master is a master because it is trained to a level to respond to the rider/handler etc? I would go down the legal route asap as it sounds as though he has been very mis-sold.
The horse I've had 8wks is extremely aggressive/dangerous and behaves just as badly under saddle but he's never done anything like this ever before? He's not just testing things out, his actions aren't "new".
The older I get the more I trust things on 2 legs!! You live and learn, I'm just finding it a very expensive lesson!
Good luck with your claim!
