I'm planning to fertilise my fields in early spring and got the kit to do it this year - just wondering where is the best/most reasonable place to buy fertiliser. I have 10 acres to do and expecting to use 100kg per acre so need a ton and wondering where is best to get it!

Any recommendations?

I'm based in East Anglia if that helps.

You could try Frontier Agriculture, I am unsure whether they deal with the public as such, but worth a try. They do a good blend without too much Nitrogen, which they supply to the stud contractors round here, either called a grassland base mix or sugar beet blend depending on what they are calling it this week! Formula is 16-7-7-7Mg -13Na2O. They deliver in 600kg bags so you may have to get 1.2t. Tel no is 01522 556600 and Paul Overton is the rep that deals with the area/studs, I believe.

Most people around me buy from frontier, too. Also worth going to one of the collective agri sales held by Pygott&Crone or Brown&Co, you can sometimes pick up some fairly cheap, especially if it is in small bags.

local agri merchants. if you ask for potato fert then you will get 16:16:16 rather than 20:10:10 . this gives lots of root growth stuff and not so much nitrogen so you get a healthy sward without a massive grass growth that could lead to lami.

I get mine at carrs billing ton. They do slow growing stuff suitable for horses. They will normally give good advice if you say what it is for.

the guy who harrows weed kills and fertilizes ours looks at our field orders what we need and does the job

i think you need someone like this if you dont know which to get
or have soil anailized
