Have been searching online and found quite a few sites that sell it on prescription but aren't that much cheaper than my vets by the time i've payed for the prescription and postage etc. But found a big online chemist for human drugs and they sell it really cheap compared to the others!!

So where do you get it from and how much are you paying for it??

I'm paying for Prascend, the equine equivalent. My vet cannot prescribe Pergolide as it's not licensed.
I'll beinterested to see the responses you get in this...

My pony has been on pergolide for years, I just had the last lot of my current prescription and the chemist told me (as I knew), that they wouldn't be able to prescribe it any more under the cascade system as there was know an equine equivalent. I imagine your vet will still be able to give it you if they have it in stock but won't be able to order in any more.

I was told (can't remember who by) that there is a way that vets can write you an NHS prescription for it & you just get it from the pharmacy. It's used to treat Parkinsons in people isn't it? Dont know how true it it - but if you can get it for less than £8 instead of 90-odd....

My old pony is on pergolide, we get it in 6 monthly supply from the vet. Up to now we've not had any issue with getting it but i agree it is incredibly expensive. I think we pay around £85 plus p&p.
If anyone knows how to get it cheaper please share!!!
Would the vets write you an NHS perscription then and would it be the same strength?
