Just curious really. Where do you keep your horses' passports? And why? We are supposed to have them with us at all times when travelling, so mine lives in the lorry, which is parked at the yard.
I have a set of drawers in the tackroom for my grooming kit etc, and it lives in there. I have a few extra bits of paper inserted into the back of the passport which I use to keep a record of worming dates, dentist visits etc - if I keep it all together, I don't forget anything!
And I have sewn a label saying 'Passport' onto my travelling boots, so I won't forget it if we go anywhere in the lorry
At home. Can't help thinking if I kept them in the horsebox, people could then steal horsebox and horse along with passport. A little far fetched maybe, but not something I'd want to risk
(Ok so I know passports are easy to come by if you know the right people, but leaving them in the horsebox, imo just makes it less hassle for thieves)
Those who keep it at home - do you remember to fetch it when traveling? If I kept mine in the drawer I'd never remember to get it when going to shows or vets etc.
I take mine most of the time when travelling (have to for RC comps) but probably not all the time if I'm honest. Then again, I don't know anyone who has ever been stopped, so not something I am overly worried about.
I need to leave myself a note to remember it or get someone to remind me, i have often forgotten it for the vets but only live 5mins from yard so can pop back and get it which is handy.

See my post above
I just sewed the word 'PASSPORT' onto the near side front travel boot. Then when I'm putting the boots on, I get an automatic reminder
Never go anywhere unbooted, so I haven't forgotten it yet!
Currently at home but yard is getting a fire proof safe installed and all passports must be kept in there unless horse is off the yard - then it goes with them. It will mean that we can satisfy the 3 hour rule for showing your passport if requested.
Mine are kept in the folder marked Horses in my Dads office. We just pick up the folder on show days. Although that often means everyones passports come for a jolly - interesting when I realise I've picked up the wrong one and have a 17h TB passport, not a 13h Sport Pony passport & have to trek back to the car!!!
