Would never have it on the horse - man at the yard did and his horse galloped into a tree in the woods. When he stopped and jumped off his thigh bone snapped and he was left in agony in the woods while the horse legged it back to the yard. Fortunately someone saw the horse come out of the wood or he could still be there now...

I have it either tucked into the side of my chaps or in one of theose Ipod armband things that runners wear.

I wear a very thin lightweight jacket that has big pockets or a gilet with pockets. If I want to leave both at home then I have a hi viz orange bum bag made for climbing that I can use.

My polite hi viz gilet has zip pockets, so I have my phone safely with me.
