Haven’t actually ridden in years but velcro strap pockety thingy on my upper arm. Probably made for runners primarily. On eBay.

Stuffed down my bra usually when at the yard or shopping. I know it's dangerous supposedly as it can cause breast cancer, but not sure if that's an old wives tale.
If I have a hi viz on (which is always worn when hacking) then I put it in the pocket and I always take my bank cards out of the phone wallet in case they fall out if I want to take a photo.
Years ago when I used to do fun rides my partner put a tracker on my phone in case I had an accident. I lost a horse as a result of an accident whilst on a fun ride so was very nervous about doing them again at the time.

I haven’t read this whole thread but please dear got take phones out with you!!!! I once went out with a friend on two very trustworthy horses - my phone was dead and we hit the end of the lane when my friend realised she’d forgotten hers … we carried on regardless. Half an hour later her horse had slipped on his side in a complete freak accident and she had a serious concussion. I had to walk both ponies and my delirious friend down to, and through the nearest village to find someone who was home to call an ambulance. Absolutely awful day.

Gosh, there's risks to everything. I carry a phone in a thigh pocket on my riding trousers and don't like carrying it in a jacket pocket because I heard a story about someone who got a lacerated liver (or something) from a phone in a jacket pocket.
I still think it's probably safer to carry the phone than to not carry the phone.

…also, I wouldn’t take a big heavy iPhone - I have a much smaller Nokia for such occasions

When they went through a phase of making phones tiny I remember having one that fit in that tiny pocket on old jods.
Which was previously for keeping 10p in, so you could use a phone box in an emergency!

In my riding tights pocket. I was very glad to have it 6 weeks ago when I fell off and broke my hip. The phone was intact and I was able to ring for an ambulance and to do what3words so they could find me on the common! I think everyone should ride with a phone.
