In the summer pooch usually choses to sleep in his big dog bed or on the floor outside the bedroom.

In the winter when it's cold he sleeps on the bed usually at my feet - if it's really cold he'll "ask" to get under the covers. :)

Mine are both in the kitchen of a night (2 cocker spaniels)

We have a baby gate on the kitchen so we can shut them away out there. They have a selection of beds and blankets thrown out there with them so they have a huge choice.

On their beds in the lounge or on the big bottom step at the foot of the stairs. They aren't allowed on any furniture or up the stairs, and even if they were I like my bed too much to share it with two big hairy dogs :D

My dogs sleep outside and i wouldn't have it any other way. In my defence :) they are farm dogs, 2 collies and 1 spaniel and they stick of cow poo!! Having them in the back kitchen is okay but in the house is a massive no go area. They've sneaked into the main kitchen before but get sent out. If the OH is there then they don't even try and go into the back kitchen.
They have a kennel (big enough for a horse) with loads of straw, toys, food and water.

As for being on the bed.....yuk. They've rolled in cow poo, eaten dead animals (we have an animal disposal onsite too), eaten the afterbirth from heifers with newborns and rolled in fox poo. Im gagging at the thought of these 3 going inside!!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's dog is outside. We acquired a 1 year old GSD earlier this year and decided before he arrived that he would live outside. He is a big of a hooligan, I can't imagine him in the house. When he wants a drink he just walks into the garden pond up to his chest.

He has the run of our large garden and he has access to a double garage at all times. Despite this in the day he chose to lay outside the back door even if it was raining. Husband built him a kennel and put it outside the back door and he loves it. Unless it's pouring with rain I find him in his kennel in the morning. He looks so cosy. I can leave the doors open and leave him unsupervised and he never tries to come in the house.

Harvey sleeps in the kitchen. We have an aga so he sleeps in his bed by that, or if there is any hoodies or anything lying around he will drag them to the kitchen chair and sleep on them there! Sometimes he gets to sleep in mine or my sister's room but he usually sleeps in the kitchen :)

Both sleep on their beds at the top of the stairs. They wil sneakily push my daughter's bedroom door open in the middle of the night if she's not in and get on her bed!

The little dogs are outside in the kennel, Elsie is indoors and sleeps on a vetbed in the corner of our bedroom. During the day she is wherever we are, so currently snoring like a pig laid on the living room floor. If we are in the kitchen she lays on the kitchen floor, ditto dining room etc. She does occasionally take herself upstairs to her own bed in the day, and we have found evidence of her sneaking onto the bed - imprint of her head on the pillow and hairs on the duvet cover!
