If you get an ickle whippet it has to sleep on the bed....it's the law!

On my bed

She only comes up when I invite her, though, being the well-mannered little girlie she is. The downsides are her occasional snoring, and managing to take up every square inch (in spite of only being 17lbs).

But come on -- how the hell am I supposed to say no to this face?

Well actually they sleep in their bed in the kitchen. They have one each but rarely use both! But on the odd occasion they sneak upstairs and then.... well theres just no chance of getting them down again and the damage they do to the door...if removed from bedroom...its easier for OH to sleep in the spare room!!!!Hehe!!!

My boxer sleeps downstairs in the hallway - she pees on the floor if she is left in the front room!
But - in the mornings, when the OH has gone to work. He always gets up before me. We work shifts you see.
Anyway - when he's gone i call her up and we have a cuddle and go back to sleep together for a bit! Lush.
OH has no idea - i have to make sure i get rid of all the doggie hairs tho!

My three sleep in the kitchen, they have two beds and one large rubber backed sheepskin mat, one of the hairy collies get's very hot in a bed, so they take it in turns who has the mat or they just share. My dog's aren't allowed upstairs, unless OH is out and they sneak up

. TBH i think the collie in my sig would rather live outside he loves lying at the gate watching the world go by!

Bless him!!

Finny sleeps on his duvet & polypads in the kitchen in the play pen
Tinks sleeps in the crate on his polypad - which has been ripped!!
mad.gif
hence he doesn't get a duvet as he'd shred it!!!

My JR sleeps under my duvet, snuggled up close.
shocked.gif
In fact he thinks it's his bed, but he's kind enough to share it with me!!!
wink.gif
When I'm on night shift (12hrs), stays with my dad (in his bed, with a lab on the bed).

It's personal choice. I don't like dogs in the bedroom because I think it is unhygienic, and they are noisy at night and I am a light sleeper - bad enough sharing with a human, let alone a dog! Also it can lead to dominance issues; it is important for dogs to know their place in the pack. Also all my dogs have been very hairy and I do not like sleeping in a hairy bed.

The hygiene issue doesn't bother me so much, but a dog sleeping on my bed would annoy me and might cause interruption to the marital pleasures! Plus as you say the dominance issue and also if they get used to being with you day AND night there is always the risk of encouraging separation anxiety.

My pup sleeps shut in her crate in the kitchen, my older girl sleeps in a basket outside the crate so they don't get lonely.

flora used to sleep in my bed but I found a puppy, a dog and a boyfriend was just too much LOL so she has be banished to the kitchen much to her disgust
grin.gif

In his basket in the kitchen, but we leave the doors to the utility room and dining room (and thus the conservatory doors in summer) open for him to roam about.

My 3 sleep out in our sunroom during the winter but in the summer generally they sleep outside in the garden in one of their many holes.
smile.gif

2 of my JRs sleep in my bed, 1 JR in bros bed. 2 old girls in the sun room with quilts. And the other 5 sleep in the utility room, have a large crate that sleeps at least 2 and have 3 baskets in there too.

When we just had 2 dogs they had their own beds in the dinning room but then we got the foxhound and he ate every bed we bought so we gave up. Now we have 2 duvets on top of each other which all 3 dogs sleep on, which works well because the covers go in the washing machine every week.

We have a hole (used to be a dog flap - labrador broke it!) in the kitchen wall so they have 24/7 access to the garden.
