Where else are the geese gathering and what do your horses think?

For the last few weeks the numbers of geese around here have been steadily increasing - this morning the flock was huge. When i turned two of my horses out into a wonderful pink dawn they stood still for ages and seamed to be watching the geeses acrobatics (the wind is rather stong) the honk honk calls could be heard and four little stragglers were flapping hell for leather to try and catch up the main "squad" the last time mine stood so quite and still was when we had a hot air balloon go overhead and they just stood and stared.

Digging out the winter rugs now - as i know that the geese will be gone soon - always feel sad as i miss them in the morning and nights when they come back to roost. But hopefully i will still be around to see em next year !

Lots of geese up my way, always are, they do a lot of damage to the crops.

My horses are so used to them that to dont pay much attention to them.
They stay until about March when they head homewards again.
Boy they are noisy!

I love the geese, the fact that they fly for thousands of miles in formation fascinates me.

My horse is not bothered by them at all.

We have them fly over us sometimes and they send Charlie Loop! If he is tied up on the yard I have to shove him out in the field quickly, if I'm riding him I just have to cling on. Very strange horse
