Where else can I advertise for liveries?

Local post offices, shops, newsagents etc. Places people go to regularly so they are more likely to see. As a horse owner I rarely go to the tack shop as I have just about everything (and don't want to be tempted to get anything more!), and don't really read local newspaper in much detail. Admittedly this is where I would look if i were looking for livery but by putting ads in commonly visited shops you might catch the eye of people who aren't actively looking but might not be completely happy with where they are cureently and so seeing your advert might tempt them to come and look. Hope this helps, good luck in finding some new liveries, my yard is struggling at the moment to fill it's few spaces due to the recession, lots of people selling horses off and not replacing them. :(

Big notice on your front gate? Alot of people drive around the lanes looking for yards without checking in tack shops etc first.

When I had my livery yard we had a bit of a system within the area with other Yard owners / managers - that if someone had a vacancy that we would tell each other so that if yard 1 was full it would pass on contact details of the other yard that had free stables and vice versa - also worked if someone left a yard and was not a good client for whatever reason then it would be put out to the other yards to be on the alert and be forwarned. Might be worth having a trip out to meet other YO - just another way of putting the word out!

Good signage on the front of your property will always work ! - It's amazing how many people aren't happy where they are and when they see a sign will pop in on the off chance.

Have you got ads in shops that stock horse feed such as Farmway rather than tack shops?

There will be alot more people passing through feed merchants, also ask your farrier if you can put an advert in this van.
